Spring Jenkins

Although this is the first post for this particular blog, this is not my first blog by a long shot. I’ve had an on-again-off-again love affair for blogs for years, and I refuse to believe they are dead.

So where shall we start?

My name is Spring. I live in southern Illinois with my eleven-year-old kid and, more recently, my mother, as it was determined that she could no longer live alone. It’s an adjustment, but both my son and I are happy to have her here; I feel like she and my son are both good for each other.

This blog really has no ultimate purpose other than to get thoughts down. I have a Bachelor’s in English/Creative Writing, a minor in Psychology, and an Associate’s in Computer Programming. Currently, I’m probably about two weeks away from completing my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) course. As you can guess, I have a lot of interests.

Learning is kind of a hobby of mine.

Speaking of hobbies: I love to read (shocking, I know), write, play video games, knit, crochet, binge-watch all the geeky shows…I really can’t think of anything in which I don’t have some kind of passing interest and/or knowledge.

But for now, I’m trying to get back into writing. Usually, I love to journal, but lately, I feel drawn to discuss books that I’m reading or new things that I’m learning. I’m sure I’ll probably start dissecting movies and shows that I’m watching. I am a literary nerd, after all.
