Currently, I’m in a weird space after finishing my CNA course, waiting to take the state exam, needing to take my mother back to her house to get things, and then looking for a job. I quit my previous job to take the course–there was no other option, sadly–and to say that I’m itching to get back to work is an understatement.
In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of reading, catching up on shows that I’ve been meaning to catch up on, and reading. Lots and lots of reading.
I’ve also been meeting people and discussing what we are watching and reading.
What I’ve wrapped up: Season 2 of The Rings of Power and season 2 of House of the Dragon.
What I am about to start: The Penguin. A couple of new friends also recommended Agatha All Along. I enjoyed WandaVision, so I am making a mental note to give the spin-off a go, as soon as I remember what my Disney+ password is.
Books that I’m reading right now: a book on Druidry (because druidism is interesting), The 48 Laws of Power, and Wicked. There are several others that I’m in varying stages of reading, but those are the three that spring to mind at the moment.
The 48 Laws of Power was actually recommended to me by my ex-husband. I had asked him about how he became such a good speaker. I’m always trying to learn stuff and improve, and I’ve always admired my ex’s oratory skills.
For some reason, he cited this book as one I should read. So far, it seems to be a crash course in how to be an asshole. I’m not really sure what that has to do with his speaking skills. Maybe I’ll figure it out as I go along.
